Red een Kind (Help a Child) is a Christian, international non-profit organization, founded in The Netherlands in 1968. We provide a future for children in poverty, their families, and their entire communities. We collaborate with various Dutch, international and local organizations. Together with 45 colleagues in Zwolle and 150 in our country offices, we work in India, Kenya, Burundi, Malawi, Uganda, Rwanda, South Sudan, Somalia, and the DR Congo. We are thankful for the support and funding we receive from thousands of individuals, families, institutional donors, churches, businesses, and foundations.
Tasks
As team lead you have significant and strategic impact by securing continued funding for our programs in India and Eastern Africa. Your team, consisting of two institutional relations officers and two relationship managers, is responsible for partnering with institutional donors, (international) foundations, businesses and churches. Your primary focus is on diversifying and growing these partnerships, particularly with institutional donors. At the same time, you manage, motivate, and inspire your team to continue identifying and creating opportunities and to grow the number of donors and projects to reach more children and families. Your team is part of the larger fundraising and awareness department (marketing, communications, sponsor administration). You report to Simone, who manages the department.
In this strategic position you are responsible for:
- Fine-tuning and implementing our strategy for institutional donors, (international) foundations, businesses and churches.
- Managing the team of institutional relations officers and relationship managers. Together you develop the annual plan, set objectives, and monitor progress.
- Together with the department manager and the team leaders for communication, marketing, and sponsor administration, discussing relevant developments within and outside the organisation and translating these into opportunities.
- Identifying and securing new funding opportunities and ensuring successful relationships with a growing and diversified group of institutional donors.
- Ensuring a high-quality proposal development process and where needed active participating in writing, developing, and submitting proposals.
- Coordinating the collaboration with colleagues from our country offices, and teams in Zwolle to further develop compelling propositions, and proposals for both institutional donors, as well as for foundations, businesses, and churches.
- Monitoring and evaluating fundraising activities, tracking proposal submissions, and preparing reports for senior management.
- Representing or ensuring Red een Kind is represented in relevant networks and at meetings and events to promote our work and engage with (potential) donors and partners.

- Are experienced designing, writing, and coordinating won institutional donor proposals involving various partners.
- Have a relevant university degree and multi-year relevant experience as an institutional fundraiser.
