Het zou zo’n mooi pinksterweekend worden, maar tot ons grote verdriet mocht het niet zo zijn.
Donderdag, 28 mei, is Jaap Zeekant ons ontnomen. Founder en hoofdredacteur van Vakblad fondsenwerving, initiator en mede-initiator van Goede Doelen Nederland, voorheen VFI, Nederland Filantropieland, voorheen (na talloze fusies) het Nederlands Genootschap voor Fondsenwervers, de Nationale Vakdag Fondsenwerving, en talloze andere initiatieven.
Het is op zijn geliefde platform dat wij dit nieuws vandaag wereldkundig maken. En het is dan ook onze nadrukkelijke wens dat dít platform het centrale punt zal zijn en blijven voor alle verdere berichtgeving over dit verlies. Een gigantisch verlies voor ons, maar zeker ook voor de sector waar hij zo van hield.
Daarom doen wij het nadrukkelijke verzoek om geen rouwadvertenties elders te plaatsen. Dat zou Jaap beslist niet gewild hebben.
Waardering bij het leven is een gift, waardering na de dood is: moment gemist.

What should have been a amazing Pentecost weekend became a tragedy.
Thursday, the 28th of May, Jaap Zeekant was taken from us. Founder and Editor in Chief of Vakblad fondsenwerving (Funds Magazine), initiator and co-initiator of Goede Doelen Nederland (branche organisation for Dutch charities), Nederland Filantropieland (branche organisation for Dutch Fundraisers), de Nationale Vakdag Fondsenwerving (Dutch National Fundraising Day) and many more initiatives.
It is on his beloved platform where we bring this news today. It is our explicit wish that this platform will remain the central point currently and in the future for any further communication regarding this loss. A gigantic loss for ourselves, but also for the sector he so dearly loved.
Therefore, we would like to stress not to post any funeral advertisements/obituaries elsewhere. Jaap would not have wanted it.
Appreciation by life is a gift, after death it is moment missed.
